Flowmetrix Technical Services is an industry leader in conducting water loss studies; watermain leak/break characterization, reported and unreported break volumetric allocation, pipe material management, watermain break model development, and Infrastructure condition factor assessment for asset management.

Watermain leak characterization - characterizing historical breaks based on main size, material, age, type of break, solid characteristics and other related physical an non-physical factors that effect leakage size/rates and frequency.

Reported and Un-reported break volumetric estimation – using Awareness, Location, and Repair (ALR) techniques in Canada, a volumetric validation of reported vs. remaining unreported leaks will be performed. Flowmetrix recommended real loss management strategies will focus on minimizing ALR times, and hence, reduction in real losses within the system.

Pipe Material Management – characterize type of main break and volume of water for each pipe material. Analysis would include leak clusters, reason and nature of breaks.

Watermain Break Model Development – based on utilities’ system characteristics, Flowmetrix would develop a futuristic mathematical model to help keep track of possible unreported breaks.

Infrastructure Condition Factor Assessment for Asset Management – is a predictive tool to compare existing infrastructure with technically best water distribution infrastructure taking into account of a proportionate amount of pipe material, age, and zonal pressures.
